Zaatar w Zeit | Lebanese Cuisine

Halloumi Sticks

Hailing from the Greek island of Cyprus, Halloumi is a soft curd-like brined cheese made from sheep’s milk. It is free of rennet and is suitable for vegetarians.

At Zaatar w Zeit, I had the fried Halloumi cheese sticks, generously covered with Z crumbs and served with thousand island dipping sauce. This was so so so good! Shameless cheese lover here.

Earthy Pumpkin Soup

Smoothly blended pumpkin served with oven baked croutons. I am not a big soup person, but this a great way to kick start your appetite.

Quinoa Halloumi Salad

I am not really keen on quinoa. So that’s why this new salad from Zaatar w Zeit was not so much a hit with me. But my mom loved it and that’s why I decided to put it up here. Comes with grilled vegetables, beans, peas, cherry tomatoes, chia and pumpkin seeds. Topped off with grilled halloumi cubes and quinoa dressing.

Fattoush

I enjoy a good salad any day anytime. My favorite is Fattoush, especially the way it is prepared here at Zaatar w Zeit. Fattoush is a Lebanese salad made from toasted or fried pieces of khubz (similar to flattened croutons) combined with mixed greens such as radishes, lettuce and tomatoes. And…..feta cheese! 🙂

Vegan Boom

The newest addition to Zaatar w Zeit, Vegan Boom comprises of a house-made patty grilled with a unique spice mix in an oat bun. Topped with freshly chopped onions, tomatoes, kale and guacamole…. anyone hungry?

Veggie Pizza

An old favorite of mine at Zaatar w Zeit, this lightweight pizza is my “guilt-free” indulgence. Pesto sauce, mozzarella, zucchini, feta cheese, black olives, hot green peppers, cherry tomatoes, rocket leaves and cut onions. I am stuffed!
