Shakespeare and Co.

Shakespeare and Co. is one my favorite vegan-friendly and vegetarian-friendly food spots in Dubai. Homegrown in Dubai, the chain was first established in 2001. Since then, Shakespeare and Co. is one of the most prominent brands of the local Food and Beverage industry. They have expanded from Dubai to neighboring emirates, as well as other countries including:

  • Egypt
  • Iraq
  • Kuwait
  • Qatar
  • Oman
  • Saudi Arabia
  • USA

Each branch of Shakespeare and Co. is distinguished by its unique “English tea-time” decor complete with pastel colors, furnishings and layout. But it’s not the ambience that I come for, but the food! The menu at Shakespeare and Co. is a fusion of Mediterranean, Italian and Cafe elements. Check out these main courses and discover the veggie lifestyle! 🙂

Vegetarian Spinach Lasagna

Shakespeare and Co. doesn’t disappoint lasagna lovers with this old favorite. Served nice and hot, the spinach lasagna just melts in your mouth. Creamed spinach cooked in four cheese sauce, the lasagna comes topped with garden salad and seasoned with lemon juice and olive oil.

Vegan Voodles

These Vegan Voodles from Shakespeare and Co. is a fun eclectic exploration for the taste buds. Carrot and zucchini vegetable noodles are tossed in tomato sauce, grilled eggplant purée and sautéed vegan protein bites. The coconut shavings on top are the icing on the cake.

Vegan Burrito Bowl

The Vegan Burrito Bowl is one of my absolute favorites at Shakespeare and Co. It is a plethora of flavors all beautifully coming together to create a sensational explosion in your mouth. Rice is tossed together with chunks of avocado, roasted sweet potatoes, shredded cabbage and black beans marinated in olive oil and cumin. Topped with sliced red onion, pickles and chopped cilantro, the bowl is completed with raspberry chipotle sauce.

Vegan Quinoa

This main course from Shakespeare and Co. is a feast for the eyes. Vegan Quinoa is a riot of color complete with quinoa seeds, mixed greens, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, radish, pomegranate, spring onions, shallot confit, all drizzled with lemon sumac olive oil dressing. Healthy, delicious, filling and your money’s worth? Check!
