Established in 2013, Al Jalila Foundation is a global philanthropic organization committed to medical research, education and cutting-edge treatment for patients with chronic illnesses and life-threatening conditions. Some of the campaigns led by Al Jalila Foundation include:

  • Together with Pampers, Al Jalila Foundation has provided over 3.3 million vaccines for UNICEF’s Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus Elimination (MNTE) Program.

Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities

Established in 1981, Al Noor follows a Trans-Disciplinary Approach (TDA) to assessment and intervention. Their techniques include behavior management, multi-sensory applications, 4 Block R Literacy framework and rhythmic movement training. Programs available at Al Noor include:

Students are also offered two routes of employment by Al Noor once they reach 18 years of age.

  • Supported Employment Programme: Students are hired within the community after a year of training.
  • Sheltered Employment Programme: Students with the necessary skills are hired by Al Noor.

Dubai Autism Center (DAC)

In 2001, one of the largest and most comprehensive nonprofit organizations dedicated to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders was founded in Dubai. The Dubai Autism Center (DAC) adheres to international standards of education and admits up to 240 students. It operates as a school, a resource and counseling center, as well as an intervention center.

Emirates Red Crescent (ERC)

Also known as the UAE Red Crescent Society, the ERC is a volunteer humanitarian organization that provides assistance to authorities during times of peace and war. In 2001, ERC was recognized as the second best humanitarian authority across Asia.

Though the headquarters of the ERC are located in Abu Dhabi, you can participate in local initiatives from Dubai. Some of the domestic and international projects of the ERC include:

Gulf for Good

Since 2001, Gulf for Good has been initiating sustainable charity projects in the developing world. The organization creates adventure experiences and fitness challenges through which participants can make a difference in the lives of under-privileged children.

Senses Residential and Daycare Center

A nonprofit organization, Senses is the first and only residential care facility for special needs across the UAE and the Middle East. Children, ages two to nineteen, with mild to severe physical disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome and epilepsy receive special care from a team of dedicated professionals and residential staff. The center offers many unique programs that are specifically designed to address the children’s needs as well as creatively engage their personalities. Some of their programs are:
