My perfume obsession has led to my latest discovery: Anfas Alkhaleej. This company is completely based in the United Arab Emirates, and uses local flavors in creating its perfumes. The infusion of precious woods, musk deer, frankincense (Oud) and myrrh gives a quality that is very distinct from your regular perfume in the West. I must admit I am madly in love with these Arabian scents. They give an air of mystery, power and sexiness. Definitely give them a try. Who knows... you just might find your Aladdin? 😍❤️ #localproducts #crueltyfreeproducts

#veggielunch One of my favorite vegetarian-friendly and vegan-friendly food spots after hours of walking around in Dubai Mall. Vegan Quinoa: Quinoa seeds, mixed greens, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, radish, pomegranate, spring onions, shallot confit, lemon sumac olive oil dressing. Spinach Lasagna: Creamed spinach, four cheese sauce, topped with garden salad, seasoned with lemon juice and olive oil Vegan Voodles: Vegetable noodles carrot and zucchini tossed in tomato sauce, grilled eggplant purée and sautéed vegan protein bites topped with coconut shavings.
Since my tummy has gone for a toss, Amma is making South India’s famous natural antidote for any stomach ailments: Angara Podi. This masala powder is a ground mixture of roasted dry spices like curry leaves, cumin seeds, neem flowers, black pepper and salt. Eat with piping hot rice and a pinch of ghee. With a sensitive tummy like mine, I always need a stock of fresh Angara Podi at home. #traditionalrecipes #ayurvedicmedicine
My dearest UAE, On the occasion of the National Day celebrations, I wish to congratulate my Emirati friends on building such a wonderful nation. My family and I moved to Bur Dubai in 1996. Our eyes have watched this country grow. We saw sands give way to the Burj Al Arab. We saw skies pierced from the Burj Khalifa. We saw open seas covered in islands. We have seen it all with immense pride. Glory indeed to the vision, courage and hard work of the rulers of our lands! Thank you for everything you have done for your people. Wherever I travel, people gape in amazement and burn in envy that I live in the UAE. And my heart swells in so much joy that I belong to such an amazing country, one of the most desirable destinations in the world. But success never goes hand-in-hand with lethargy and complacency. There is always room for more improvement, more achievements. And that means we all have to put in the hard work, not sit back and enjoy the fruits from the labors of a few dedicated people. The late John F. Kennedy aptly said, “ Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” My beloved UAE and Emiratis, May you continue to prosper in wealth, grow in compassion and strengthen your friendships. May you always have the light of spiritual guidance and the company of the wise. May you challenge yourself to walk new paths and yet overcome your obstacles. May you always taste the sweetness of success and yet be humble. And through every step of the way, I will be there by your side. You will always have my love and loyalty now and forever. #uaenationalday #myuae❤️🇦🇪🇦🇪❤️ (Note: I do not hold copyright for this picture.)
My gorgeous Emirati boo.... because which girl doesn’t love a guy strumming a guitar? #loveatfirstsight😍 Waleed plays the Arabic Oud, which comes from the family of lute instruments and dates back to 3000 BCE. The Oud is known as the king of instruments in the Arab world regions including North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and the Levant. Being one of the world’s most ancient musical instruments, the Oud is actually the grandfather of the guitar. #uaenationalday #traditionalmusic
